Mighty Thor 2010 One Step Closer To The Avengers Movie
Looks like another key piece to the Avenger movie puzzle may finally be coming into place as there seems to be a lot of buzz over at Marvel that they are in talks to bring Kenneth Branagh into the director’s chair for the big screen version of the Mighty Thor. Looks like Marvel is staying on track with the rumored Avenger movie as Thor is major piece of the puzzle that needs to be flushed out and it looks like the latest date for the movie via Marvel and Paramount Pictures is July 16th, 2010.
Word has it that the script is going to follow the Mighty Thor as he discovers that as a god he has certain abilities and super powers at his disposal that he realizes can be used for the good of all mankind. Kind of a coming out of sorts, like Iron Man. Sounds like the perfect set up for a lead in to the Avenger movie. Marvel has been doing an outstanding job so far of hinting and leading into the culmination of all the hero’s coming together to create the Avengers.
With the two short scenes at the end of both Iron Man and the Hulk movies Marvel has built up an incredible amount of anticipation for the Avengers movie. The Thor movie will be the perfect stepping stone to the Avengers as he is one of the founding members of the original Avengers. There are still so many moving parts to this Marvel puzzle that as an Avengers fan sometimes I get so pumped up for these movies that I want them to just skip ahead and get the Avengers already!
Obviously there are two different schools of thought going on in Hollywood for the comic movie genre as the X-men series started out with the team movies first and now they are breaking out into the side stories like the upcoming Wolverine (ROCKS by the way!) Then you have the individual stories for the Avengers first hopefully leading to the eventual release of the Avengers movie. I suppose in the end it really makes no difference as long as they continue to make these movies the right way and stay true to their comic book origins. I think they should continue with the indvidual movies to build up to the big flick where they are all together after all thats how the comics did it should be good enough for the movies, so far ive not had a single complaint about any of the past movies except for the original hulk, which they made up for with the revised release that just recently came out, if they stay true to the way they have been making these movies then I will still be going to the theaters five or six times to watch each movie, and waiting in line on dvd release days to purchase my copy.
