Hulk’s Crew Gains New Title
Mini-series to follow the conclusion of World War Hulk.
by Filip Vukcevic
Editor’s Note: This past weekend there was a relatively small convention in Canada. Though mostly quiet on the news front, Marvel Comics did make a couple announcements. You might be wondering why it took three days to get the news on the site. That’s because we hired a group of farmers on alpacas to trek down to Culver City, CA to deliver the news printed on scrolls. Seriously. We fed them carrots, which is great since we really had no money to give them anyway.
So, it’s a little late, but it’s here. Next time we’ll hire pigeons or something. Seeds are probably cheaper than carrots anyway. – Rich
War, what is it good for? Let’s ask the Hulk. And if he’s not available, we can always turn to his trusty sidekick asskickers, the Warbound. Readers of World War Hulk will no doubt be pleased to learn that the hardcore gladiators will be getting their own mini-series (penned by Grek Pak), as recently announced at the 2007 Toronto Fan Expo.
The ever-lovin’ blue-eyed C.B. Cebulski shared the news with a room full of true believers. “We’ve got a Warbound mini-series spinning out of World War Hulk,” he said. “It’s gonna be five issues, I believe, and it will start after the Aftersmash special [which follows WWH]. It’ll have Korg, Hiroim, Elloe – anyone who makes it through World War Hulk. We haven’t announced the cast yet because we don’t want to spoil anything for fans reading World War Hulk.”
It’s interesting to note that Greg Pak will be penning the mini. He’s clearly enjoying his time with the green gladiator, and it’s admirable that he will also finish telling the stories of these supporting characters which he helped create.
When approached, Pak was reluctant to share what else he has on his plate. “Well, the thing is, I’m working on multiple things,” he said. “There’s an Aftersmash one-shot which comes out after World War Hulk, so that’s what I’m working on today.” This said with an emphasis on the “today.”
Pressed for more information, the tight-lipped Pak offered only this: “There is something big I’m working on, of which I cannot speak.”
So we’ve got something big, and we’ve got Pak. Sign us up.
