Two ‘Peanuts’ Comics Auctioned for a Combined $106,270
A pair of original “Peanuts” comics (one daily and one Sunday) were purchased for a combined $106,270 at a recent in-house and online sale conducted by Philip Weiss Auctions.
The daily strip — signed by cartoonist Charles M. Schulz and dated June 27, 1957 — sold for $52,110. It pictures Snoopy in all four panels and Charlie Brown in the last panel.
The 13-panel Sunday comic — dated April 8, 1962 — went for $54,160. It features a baseball gag involving Snoopy and Linus.
THQ Signs Marvel Comics Deal
THQ and Marvel Comics have signed a deal that will enable them bring games based on Marvel’s Super Hero Squad franchise to the world.
The deal gives THQ the exclusive global rights to the franchise and is described as ‘multi-year’. The first game to spin out of the deal is scheduled for Autumn 2009.
